What are my $ earnings in March 2024 as a Friend of Medium?

That is my second month since I turned on Medium Partner Program. I didn’t expect to earn that amount at the beginning.

My stats on Medium

Here are a some stats on me on Medium:

• Started writing on Medium: 2023 year;
• Joined Medium Partner Program: January 2024;
• Joined Friends of Medium: March 2024.

My Journey as a Friend of Medium

Ever since I upgraded to Friend Of Medium Status, I’ve made it a point to engage more actively on the platform.

I aim to highlight content I enjoy, like 50 times, and leave thoughtful comments under articles that resonate with me or are authored by writers with intriguing profiles.

Writing on Medium has started to feel like to contributing to a cosy, close-knit town where everyone knows each other. I like to see that every time I comment on someone else’s post, I receive a response in return, fostering a sense of community and connection.

What problems I got during my journey?

Medium provides limited statistics for writers to analyse their earnings from writing. They offer only two metrics over a 30-day period: views and reads. While writers can access lifetime statistics for individual articles, these stats are limited to view counts, read counts, and clap counts.

As a result, it’s challenging for writers to track their daily earnings or monitor long-term trends in view and read counts.

In response to this limitation, I decided to develop

— — → my own FREE Chrome extension

to enhance analytics functionality. Version 0.1.1 of the extension has already been released.

With this extension, writers have the option to :

• View analytics for different timeframes: 365 days, 90 days, 30 days, and 7 days. This feature provides a comprehensive view of the growth in views and reads over time.

• Additionally, writers can easily identify which articles are earning the most on a daily basis, providing valuable insights into their writing performance.

So, with the extension, I know that my Total income is $6.02 4th April, for example.

There area lot of idea what could be added to the extension in next releases. My Google Chrome Extension is absolutely free for everyone.

Summary:

As a Friend of Medium, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by my earnings since joining the Medium Partner Program. Despite limited statistics provided by Medium, I’ve enhanced my analytics with a Chrome extension, allowing me to track earnings and identify top-performing articles. In March 2024, I earned $30.53 from publishing seven articles, gaining 500 new followers and 10 email subscribers.
